If I knew then what I know now... the universe would be a different place.<br/><br/>The biggest lesson I learned is to trust my own instincts - there are no "experts" out there. You just have to make the best choices availble to you and embrace the outcome.<br/><br/>Take care of yourself and your family. Rest at every opportunity and try to enjoy all the little moments - they add up. Congrats!

We chose the midwife at a birthing center and then midwife at home route. Neither birth was uneventful and there were events in both of ours that could've gone badly and caused us to second guess ourselves for the rest of our lives. Luckily, they turned out ok. I'd like to think that's due to the experience and skill of the midwives, but ultimately you're once again putting your trust in the judgment call of someone who's supposed to be a professional.
